Where have we been?

What have we been up to?

We’ve been quiet for almost a month. In that time: we’ve wrapped up our high level exam classes; started our summer schools; completed the pilot run of the ‘Bridge’ got the 2014 pre-sessional course underway; hosted language related continuing professional development for colleagues from overseas partner institutions. In short we’ve been very busy. I also had a week of holiday, Yay!

This year has seen a shift in our focus; we have an increasing number of bespoke courses requested by specific partner institutions. This accounts for partly why we’ve been so busy this summer.

There has also been an increase in the number of post-graduate candidates using our ELSAC, (English Language Support in Academic Contexts) services, meaning that unless staff holidays makes it impossible we’ll run this every week that the University is open.

Upcoming posts will include:

we’ll be saying goodbye to our first summer school, and welcoming two more;

we’ll review our continuous professional development / exam courses

I’ll recap on the ‘Bridge’ programme
